Shannon Riley

Shannon, a Registered Nurse, is a Clinical Educator for the Overdose Emergency Response for Vancouver Coastal Health in British Columbia, Canada.

Some of her projects include supervised consumption services for both public access & housing settings, as well as safer washrooms for people who use drugs.

She has worked as a nurse at Insite, the 1st supervised injection facility in Vancouver, and the Crosstown Clinic, where patients receive injectable opioid (hydromorphone and diacetylmorphine) replacement therapy.

She has organized 5 previous Harm Reduction Film Festivals at the Harm Reduction Coalition National USA Conferences.

Cookie Bain

Cookie is a Registered Nurse and a Clinical Coordinator for Three Bridges Primary Care Community Health Clinic with Vancouver Coastal Health in British Columbia, Canada.

Cookie spent the first 5 years of her career working as a nurse both in the Emergency Department and Insite: The Supervised Injection Site in Vancouver’s infamous Downtown Eastside.

Over the next 5 years she has worked at six different sites across Vancouver community from Primary Care, Withdrawal Management, Transitional Care, Sexual Health and Trans Specialty Care.

Cookie has worked within every angle of harm reduction and draws on this experience as she leads the Three Bridges Primary Care Program through the opioid crisis.
